Research Programme on Education Employment Linkages

The Colloquium

The Education Employment Linkages research team presented the results of its work to a two-day international colloquium at Te Raukura: Te Wharewaka o Poneke on the Wellington waterfront on 15-16 August 2012.

The colloquium was limited to 100 participants drawn from the programme's international scholars, external reference group, research participants, other key stakeholders and three groups of rangatahi from Gisbourne, Porirua and Christchurch.

The theme of the colloquium was summarised by a well-known whakataukī:

Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou, ka ora ai te iwi;
From your food basket and my food basket, the people will prosper
.

The research team made presentations, but the majority of the time was spent by participants working in small groups sharing knowledge and experience.

A final report of the EEL Research Team summarising the material presented and produced at the colloquium is downloadable here.
